I’ve not had a chance to update the blog for a while, mainly due to the fact that there is a brand new shiny alison bailey photography website coming along very shortly. Hopefully you won’t notice too much of a difference up front, that is mainly because my lovely brides and grooms told me that you like it! So why go to all the trouble of changing it? Well, parly because of mobile devices. My old website (lovely though it was) was flash based so it made it very difficult for anyone on an iphone or ipad to see it. An iphone might not be the best device for shopping for a wedding photograper but as a new ipad owner I soon saw that I needed to address the mobile device problem. So the new website looks like the old but it’s written in HTML so everyone can see it!
The other major change will be the galleries. At the moment you can log in privately, see your wedding images and proof your album, all nice and securely. The good news is that I’m not changing that either! But, I will now have the facility to open up your gallery to friends and family at a time specified by you. Friends and family will also have the opportunity to buy any images that they would like to keep as mementoes of your big day.
And I’ve still been busy delivering the last of 2010′s albums and shooting this years weddings and booking next years!
I delivered an album yesterday and my lovely bride commented that digital did not prepare her for the gorgeousness of the images in print. I think that’s rather a nice way of putting it. Or as a fellow photographer also put it….an album will never fail to load, won’t corrupt and the format does not go out of date.

May saw me shooting at Bodidris Hall in North Wales for the first time and what a lovely little venue! Not huge but full of character and the brial suite is one of the best I have worked in. Anna is the wedding co ordinator there so if anyone is looking for a lovely venue in North Wales do please consider Bodidris Hall. If I had one comment in which to sum it up I’d say simply that everything is where it should be! Lovely stately home, perfect grounds, stunning view, lovely formal gardens and great staff. What more could you wish for?
The other venue of note this month was the first of a few at Shrigley Hall. I love shooting at Shrigley Hall, even if my feet don’t! I cover a few miles working there but it’s all worth it. I could shoot there for the entire weekend and not run out of locations or ideas
Lots to do through June with more Brides and Grooms doing final preparations, rehersals and venue recces just to make sure nothing is being dug up and scaffolding won’t be making an appearance and some cracking weddings coming right up.
See you all soon
